We are off and running, and taking big steps to support diversity in the Western Canadian wine industry.
Our first big project is to pursue an AgriDiversity Grant, and launch a 2 year education and mentorship program. Our program will identify and address the barriers for Indigenous people and people of under-represented ethnicities to participate and advance in the industry, equipping participants with credentials, experience and connections to work in wine at the managerial level.
We are currently working on funding – wish us luck!
We are actively seeking wine professionals at the management/leadership level (Indigenous people and people of under-represented ethnicities in our wine industry) that would like to mentor others as our programming evolves.
We are also looking for wine businesses to eventually offer internships to our program participants.
Send us an email office@vinica.ca if you would like to mentor or volunteer!
